    1972 - carpet

I am replacing the carpet in my '72. The question came up about the carpeting at the outside lap seat belt/door sill area.

Is the carpeting tucked under the door sill trim for the entire length of the trim(front to back) or is the carpeting cut back at the seat belt guide area thus proviing better retraction?

    comments please.

Jerome..... I have the deluxe interior... so I assume its the same for both.... the carpet is under the sill the full length on my original carpeting... and stays under the kick panel as it goes forward from the sill... hope that helps

      Norm,

It sure does. Thanks. I was concerned that I my question would not be understood, but your answer has put that thought to bed. Thanks again.

Hi Norm, A follow up question regarding the carpet at the sill plate and the outside seatbelt slot. You stated the carpet runs the length of the sill plate (front to back). The question has now come up; does any carpeting, at the seatbelt slot, actually go over the horizontal edge to the extent that it is noticeably visible on the vertical surface that runs to the floor pan bottom?

        Thanks, your help is appreciated.

Jerry,,,, it took me a couple of days to get the seat out of mine. Yes, mine looks like the one Patrick showed in the picks. Mine may have a little less carpet cut away to surround the seat belt housing, but the pattern shape is the same. Again, I'm betting this was hand cut, thus human inconsistancy was guaranteed!

            btw....Nice pics Patrick!!!
