    56 fuel tank with baffles

My late 56 with 3/8 fuel line has a non-vented fuel tank with baffles. I thought that there were no baffles until 1960. I'm certain that this is the original tank. Has anyone else discovered a baffled tank in 56 or 57 vets? Could this have been an experimental tank?

I, too, recently discovered baffles in my original Nov '56 tank, no vent. Have no reason to question whether it is original, I've owned the car since '62, and no reason to think it is special. Guess they either had both available (not likely) or the earlier assumptions were incorrect.

Thomas and Rod, my '57 original tank VIN 300X did not have any baffles. FWIT, Gary....

My '57 (5899) has a vented tank W/baffles. Also had a vented cap. The cap may have been replaced but I am pretty sure the tank is the original.

Where is your fuel line located?

            Joseph,
The fuel line is on the inside of the frame.
