Re: '65 Dash bezels
Two pics; first, a couple of NOS radio tone bezels used from '63 thru '65. The '65 TIM&JG calls them an aluminum knob/spacer with satin finish. But the tone knob and station select spacer are slightly magnetic, so I doubt the underlying metal is aluminum, unless the magnetism is due to the satin finish. These are same as on # 23564, and same finish as bezels on heater controls (also same as finish on all center dash controls on '65 C60 # 014xx).
The circular plastic bezel with function lettering, above each knob ("plate", to use the AIM terminology) are again a satin coating on the plastic, with the greenish tint of bare plastic lettering showing through the satin background. The satin matches that on the bezels. Can take photos to show above, if desired.
Note ..564's ignition switch bezel, which is also satin finish. Bubba owners must have used water pump pliers on it.
Second pic is a radical crop of the area of interest on # 23563's dash, showing same satin bezel on ignition switch and satin finish on heater bezels. Looks like the "plates" might have been painted black, though.- Top
