hello, I installed an inline fuel filter between fuel pump and carb to double check for dirt in gas tank sense car had been sitting awhile, after running motor for a while, a few days later filter is empty and I have to crank and crank to get gas back in filter this has happened several times, shouldn't the fuel pump have a check valve to keep fuel line full, thanks mike

Re: fuel pump 1960
You should have more than enough fuel in the float bowl to start and run the engine long enough to refill the pump-to-carb line; if you don't see an accelerator pump shot from the squirters when you move the throttle linkage after sitting for a few days, it's time to look at the WCFB for a crack or leak.- Top
