If this is the only problem with the frame, and it is the original frame with the VIN stamped to match your car, I would certainly repair it. If you get the replacement rail section from Vette Products of Michigan, it should not be that difficult of a repair by a good weld shop, especially with the body off the frame. Sometimes you can't see the VIN clearly until after the frame is acid dipped or blasted. It would be on the driver side frame rail, right under where your wallet would be if you were sitting in the driver seat.

Thats right, now I remember reading about it in the yellow chassis restoration book. I will most likely get a repair section. Just got to figure out where I can keep the body while I do it :P

Ian, I think that you will be happier with the replacement section rather than trying to fabricate your own. I have done both, while I like to fabricate and weld, the Vette Products part just makes life simplier
