I'm trying to learn what I can about my newly acquired, unrestored 1961 big brake car. The questions I have are mainly about the front fiberglass air ducts. First....how nice were the squares cut that the ducts were screwed to? Mine don't look so uniform. Second....I read that the ducts in the 1959-1960 cars were course weave fiberglass and the 1961-62's were fine weave. My kind-of early 1961 (#2963) has course weave. Should I suspect these as replacements or someone trying to make a big brake car out of a non-big brake car? Thanks, JB?

Re: RPO 687 Front Air Ducts
Justin, recommend you contact Rev. Mike Ernest and Dennis Clark who both are listed in the TDB Member's List and are both excellent resources for your big brake car. Congrats on your new acquisition! Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter
