    67 Power Brake Booster

Further to the previous question pertaining to correct number code, by Lorne Goba yesterday. Can anyone please confirm which side of the tab contains the Julian date code and the P/N code ?

My understanding is that the Back Side (Firewall side) contains the P/N code and the Front Side (Master Cylinder side) contains the Julian date code.

    Thanks

Howard, I think you have that backwards. Here is a pick of a 66 with the "7011" on the front. Check with - Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes. They are stamping their new boosters with correct part numbers and Julian dates.

      Thanks Pete

I raised this question beacause a good friend of mine has what is beleived to be an original booster however the Julian code is on the front side (master cylinder side), and the P/N is on the back. I had not seen this before and wanted to check this out.

Is your booster an original ?

      Thanks !

        Howard,
I have seen an original 67 with the part number on the front tab (left) and the Julian on the front tab (right). It sure seems to be an inexact science with mid year boosters.

Howard you have a private message.

My original booster has the last 4 digits (5455867) of the part number on the firewall side of the tab and on the front side of the same tab facing the brake master cylinder is the julian date (309) which is Nov. 5, 1966 in my case. The number is for 67 only and was changed on 8-22-66.
Looking towards the firewall the tab is positioned at 10 o"clock.

            Warren & Peter

Thank you very much for your comments and details as this will assist me greatly in getting the "correct" booster identification for my car.
