    C2 shock washers--Joe L?

Joe, can't you still get these original style shock washers from the General for about $9 a pair?

Tony -- I seem to remember when attending Vancouver B.C. (new chapter) judging school, that the '63-64 TIM&JG called for the smaller top washers for '64 (at least). Do you (or others) know if this is the case ?

Definitely. These larger washers are 65-82 pieces. Also, originally used on some early Chevy II's.

Well, lets just say that if 1963-64 owners use washer GM #25628204 for the upper, front shock washer they'll be about 95% correct. And, one can buy these for $0.67/each, GM list.

Is there a picture of the correct washers anywhere? I looked up #25628204 on gmpartsdirect.com and there was no picture. The judging manual does not have a picture or reference either. Thanks.

                    Oh, by the way,
if you are looking to buy the upper shock washers, be sure to confirm that are not actually the upper "A" arm shaft end washers.
They appear to be the same, they are not! They vary in the concave depth.

Mike, aren't the ones shown in John Messinger's ebay auction 65-82, or the "larger" ones? I was trying to figure out the difference since my 64 and 66 both have ones that look like the picture. Thanks.

Apologies, didn't realize you needed the '63-4's.
I seem to remember these appearing in Noland's book. Don't have mine with me. maybe someone can chime in with a page #.

Attached is a photo of a GM #25628204. This piece is almost identical to the GM #43468 or GM #5544049 used for 1963 Corvettes and GM #5544049 used for 1964 Corvettes. As I recall, the originals are a tiny amount thicker and with a slightly different curvature to the raised portion. You would virtually need to have them side-by-side and using a magnifying glass to see the difference.

Anthony, See July14, 2006. Jim Lennartz for three nice pics of the shock washers. I didn't read all of the posts in detail but in scanning I missed seeing what month and year you Corvette is. Just guessing you probably need the shock washer that has the hex indentation. The center pic of Jim's three shots. The ebay ones are the oriental hat ones and aren't worth a crap for a 63-64. You actually need a bunch of the correct washers. Need the same washer for the sway bar rubbers. So therefore you need at least 6 of them. Originals are big bucks and hard to find. Email me if you need more info. Jorjorian had a nice pic of a bag of NOS ones but the photo is gone. Or if its there I cannot find it. John
