I have my mirror out for rechroming, and polishing. The mirror has to be broken in order to rechrome. Is this a problem to replace the mirror . Is it just glued in.

Basically yes and is a different SS metal then a repro.Also get dark glass. Which is chromed . Then you need to have the rear view mirror accessory and shade cover added to your Corvette.

Don, are you redoing your interior or exterior mirror? Either way, as Roy said get a dark tint. Make sure it's "Interior Glass" not automotive day/night. Interior glass is silvered on the back. When you hold a credit card up to the reflections are separated by about 1/16th of an inch. On automotive day/night glass it's silvered on the front and the reflections touch each other. Cut cardboard templates to get the size just right then have the glass cut to fit. Good luck, Gary....
