It is with a sad heart that I am writing this post. One of my dearest friends, Marvin Burnett, past away suddenly this evening at his home in Missouri. He leaves behind his loving wife Joan. Many of you know Marvin and Joan for all of their efforts and dedication to the NCRS. For those of you who don't know, Marvin is the 73-77 National Team Leader and Joan is the Youth Activity Director and most recently served as the 2008 National Convention Chairperson. Marvin will be truly missed by all, I consider myself fortunate for having had the opportunity to become friends with him. Please keep Joan in your thoughts and prayers. I know you are in a better place but I will miss you my friend.

I too, think I was fortunate to know know and spend alot time with Marvin & Joan. If any of you did not know Marvin, you missed knowing what NCRS is all about. If there is any one that represented NCRS all the time it was Marvin.

Re: Marvin Burnett 73-77 National Team Leader
My wife Connie and I spent time with Marvin and Joan at the Northwest Regional this past week. Joan judged our car and Marvin was right there as usual. Connie and I ended the Awards Banquet talking with both of them about family. I didn't know Marvin well but I always admired him and enjoyed listening to his perspective on things. Our prayers are with Joan and we know Marvin is at peace.
Thanks Marvin for everything you've done and for your kind words and gentle disposition. We will miss you.

Re: Marvin Burnett 73-77 National Team Leader
I spent some time with Joan and Marvin in Carlisle. Marvin was working on a 1956 and I looked forward to assisting in the restoration. Kay and I are thinking of both of our friends.

Re: Marvin Burnett 73-77 National Team Leader
I am really stunned, having just chatting with Marvin and Joanie in Bend about their '56, among other things.
The most wonderful people you will ever know.
I enjoyed and learned a great deal Judging for Marvin, not only the cars, but, his demeanor and mastery in dealing in with people.
I am having great difficulty in trying to find the right words.
Joanie, we are here for you.
Remember the good times.
Warmest Regards,
Mike- Top

Re: Marvin Burnett 73-77 National Team Leader
A time of reflection for all of us in the NCRS that have been here for such a long time. Many of our friends have passed this way and left us with such great memories. My memories of Marvin and Joan are at the Joplin Regional meets in the 90's and into 2001 and the especially the National at Grand Lake in 1993. Marvin was always there to document our activities with a photograph and a smile.
I last saw them at Carlisle last month. Now, I wish I had stopped to chat with them.
Goodbye my friend,
Joe Ray- Top
