Duke and others have given great suggestions.

Keeping the batteries charged during storage is aided by cleaning the w/ baking soda water.

While I have an old style BT (no microprocessor), I now use a Battery Extender by Autometer and a Schauer ChargerMaster. The ChargeMaster I picked up for under $30 and I like it because it plugs into the outlet with a nice long cable and the box isn't floating around the garage floor.

I use the Battery Butler without a problem. I disconnect the battery but leave it in the car. The car is stored in a Car Capsule from November until April in an unheated garage.

The Car Capsule completely envelops and seals the car. How do you run the power cord/extension cord into the Car Capsule to power the Battery Butler?
