    Is this the real McCoy?

For over a year I have been looking for a Rochester Q-jet for my 1980 L48 Manual build in April 1980.
I have found this one and before I buy it I need your opinion, Please?
Looking at the stamping the #8 and#0 are very feint.
    What do you think?
    Thank you
    Paul

    PAUL-
I see no reason to hesitate on your purchase. The stampings I've seen on some (Including my own) other Rochester Q-Jets are not much different / better than this one. If your concerned about this being a re-stamp I would say it's not, but....? Perhaps one of our judges who's veiwed numerous more carburetors than myself will pipe in and let you know their opinions.

I think it looks real, and would not hesitate.

Don't just look at the numbers that are stamped, look at the surface of the pad. This one appears to be unmolested. Numbers also look good.

          Paul----

It looks good to me. Also, it's my vague recollection that "CPP" is the broadcast code for the 17080207 carburetor. If so, if someone changed the number, then they must also have changed the broadcast code. Both look completely original to me.
