    FI air cleaner from 70144800

    A while back I acquired a 4800 unit and it came with a single tube air cleaner. I gave it no thought as the 4800 only uses one tube on what is usually a 3 tube air cleaner.
    After reading Ken Kaysers FI book I am curious to know if GM actually produced a single tube unit. In addition it has a cover which is approx. 6 13/16" in diameter.
    I have attached pictures .
    Any info is appreciated.

      bruce: your photo makes for difficulty in evaluating the air cleaner base for oriiginality as there is a good bit of glare. however, it appears to lack the "tab" at the periphery of the base that original 57 air cleaners exhibit. . originals have tab and early repos lack it. mike
