Too bad its not white though. Nice little ornament. I better get one as it reminds me of my fake fuel car. It was saddle saddle until I had it painted red. I love 63 saddle cars. Very refreshing to see one as long as it ain't painted CC BC. JD

John; A guy in our local chapter had a Saddle/Red 63 coupe! Didn't think I would like it, but after I saw it I thought it looked great. But you have to remember, my wife says "the only taste I have is in my mouth"!!!!

The problem for me with scale model cars is they never scale the Metallic colors right. They come out looking like metal flake. That's why I dumped the Franklin Mint Models (one reason) and replaced them with Danbury Mint. They get the metallic colors right, among a whole lot of other details. But, as Christmas ornaments go, this is fine for it to look glitzy, as long as it doesn't purport to be a "Scaled Model".

p.s. I have 115 (1/24th) models (mostly Corvettes) and 37 (1/18th) scale. Got carried away, and the wife says; STOP! STOP! No More!

Stu; Back in 1998 my 63 was in the N.C.M. and I had no mid year to work on during the winter so I built this 1/24 diorama.

Is this a picture of your garage? Sure looks real to me. Nice work.

Long ago, I used to buy plastic Vette model kits and modify them, but I seldom ever painted them. I put a "W" engine in one, a Chrysler Hemi in another, etc. The fun was in making odd things fit together. My favorite was a Ford (Shelby) Cobra that I put a big block Chevy in it. Guess that stems from my first real car experience in 1957 - I put a 55 V8 in a 50 Chevy coupe w/o any instructions or guidance of any sort from Car magazines to go by. I had more fun with that car than any other in my life. I told all the Ford drivers that I dusted that I had a flathead in it, just to make them fell better. It was a real sleeper, with nothing but the common pencil tip dual exhausts (common for the day) to give it away.

But I have always let the models be my fantasies - right now I'm "Corvette Mike" (Stu), Ha!
