    57 Parking Brake Question

I am missing the washer that goes inside the "parking brake cable to firewall nut". Is there anything special about this washer? I don't want to buy the entire nut/washer kit since I only need just the washer.

Can anyone tell me about this washer?

    Thanks for any help.

Well it's unique nothing else like it on the Corvette , it cuts into the glass as the nut tightens. Don't ever see them for sale , ask other vett guys if they have one.

Ashley, you might try Paragon Vintage, Grossmueller, Dr. Rebuild and some of the others who have original parts.

      Good Luck!

        Re: 57 Parking Brake Question

My car was taken apart before I got it. I do have a couple of bags of screw/washers and misc items, but I don't really know what I'm looking for. I guess there is a chance I have it, but I don't know for sure.

Can anyone point me to a picture of the washer?

        Thanks,

        Ashley

          Ashley,

If you're talking about the "inside star" washer as shown in the pic, all you'd need is a flat washer that fits because the inside star doesn't show.

            Bob,
You have given me exactly what I need. This picture will allow me to look through my hardware. If I can't find it, I now know what I can get that will work.

            Thanks for your help.

                Bob,
I wanted to follow up to this. I went by my house at lunch today and found the washer. Thank you again for the picture. I would not have been able to find it without your help.
