    70 muffler hanger Restoration

Can I drill out the rivets and have the pieces re-plated? Then can they be reassembled like new with the correct rivets?

    Thanks,

    Bill

    Bill----

The steel components of the original hangers were NOT plated----they were just bare steel and rust rapidly. If you wish to dis-assemble them, I suppose you could drill out the rivets and re-rivet, though. However, I have found the reproductions available from Dr. Rebuild to be identical to the originals.

the hangers from gardner exhaust are dead on also. for something that cheap to replace with a correct part, to me its not worth the time to restore the old ones.
