Just thought I would say hi to all NCRS members. I am currently restoring a 1979 Coupe which I have had for 4 years.

In restoring the car I decided to see if I could track the car from the time it left St. Louis in 1978. Is there any way to determine what number this car was for shipment in Canada? Was it the 5th, 200th or what. If I follow serial numbers as being sequential mine was the 300th produced for 1979. I have already confirmed thru GM that the car was delivered on Aug 28th to a local dealer but would really find it interesting to know where it ranks for Corvette,s coming into Canada. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Frank at GM Canada in Oshawa could figure it out from his records, but I'm not sure it's a standard part of their service.

Just as a very rough guess, your car would have been approx. the 30th brought into the country that year.

Mike,

I tried Frank at GM and he stated that they are unable to track what order any of the cars imported into Canada where. He did say that you are probably not to far off on your guess that mine could be one of the first 30.
