    Doors on a 75--two types?

Just looked at a 75 for a friend--California car, never damaged that I can tell, pretty original fairly tired.
My question is this: it's a t-top car (coupe) but the right door has the inset for the aligning pin (convertible style) stamped in. (It's definitely a convertible door on a coupe)
Has this been seen before? Should I not be suprised? Since I'm no mid-70's expert, I'm just kinda curious.

    Hi Mike,
I don't know... but I would next take a quick look to see if the door has a side impact beam or not. If I didn't see it I'd figure I was looking at a pre- 1972 door, if I saw it I'd be right back where you are.
    Regards,

Yes I saw the same thing on the judging feild a few years ago. I think it was a late 75 coupe and it had one convertible door. This was on a one owner low mileage car and I think it was decided it was original to the car.
Gm may have wanted to use up the stock before the the last convertible for a long time was built.
