    1970 Base 350 Engine Sputter

Last year at Carlisle I bought a 1970 with base 350 and 4 speed. Runs fine until 3/4 throttle when it begins sputtering as if not getting enough fuel.
Replaced the tank, lines and filter. Local engine shop redid the carb, checked fuel pressure (good) and ran the car on a dyno with a shop carb - same problem.
The compression is 200 psi and I have an old receipt for an engine rebuild in the 1980's that mentions a Crane cam was installed.
The shop is suggesting a high energy ignition but is out of ideas at that point.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    John

Not much to go on. The OE ignition was a single point distributor, not HEI. What ignition system and plug wires are actually on the engine.
