    HANNA to visit the NE

Guess you fellows in the North East best check your Garage doors. HANNA is on the way. My son sent me an E-Mail advising he won't be able to meet me at the cruise-in here in Orlando later tonight as his projected weather flying into JFK is winds steady at 35 mph w/gusts to 45, heavy rain with a ceiling of 200 ft. Their max. for gusts is about 38 mph w/the A320, so they wait for the ATC to call out 38 mph, then proceed with their approach. JFK is rough and holds a lot of water on the runways so it's a big use of thrust reverse to stop ASAP.

Hope no one has their Vette in a potential flood spot.

    Good Luck.

And Ike's looking to make me go through this whole thing again, when I'm just getting settled after Gustav ...

On Long Island, wind is picking up and rain just starting. I live on waterfront and the tide is my worst worry. Boat lines given some slack, but most important, the Corvette is in the garage snuggled down and under constant watch

All these unwanted friends this year - thought we'd own Ike here in Central Florida, and may still depending on it's last moves north of Cuba.
Well, I'm going to go to the cruise in tonight anyway. Will probably see a lot of folks from the NE and the Gulf coast over here hoping to dodge the storms. It will be a different topic of discussion from the usual one about how they had to sell their Vette when they got married or with a kid on the way. That's fine, I always like to commiserate with the Car Crazy crowd.

Best of luck to all who might be in the path of one of these storms.

          Save the wave!

Up here on Cape Cod we're only expecting potential gusts to 50 out of the Southeast. I tied a couple of more lines on the boat and the Vettes are all tucked in. Nothing like the weather you guys down South have had and are in store for with Ike. Busy in the tropics this year.

              4:10 pm EDT,
The skies are brightening in Central Maryland. We received a few inches of rain and a little breeze this afternoon and that's about all. I hope others nearer the coast and further North are fortunate too!
              Regards,
              Alan

                  Hi Chuck,
If I had a move to Florida on the horizon, I think it would always be sunny!!!

                    OOPS, I lied, Alan.

We must have been in the eye of the storm. Started pouring again about 4:30 PM. Looks like we're in the tail now.

It's a little after 5 PM, and it's really coming down....more than earlier.

Raining really hard right now in central connecticut, we've had over 2" in less than an hour.

Storm is moving fast though, hopefully my 7:50am tee time will be ok
