73 LS4 w/ AC should have a fan with 7 blades that have points on the ends. Part # 3992095. Anyone know where to get this? Can't find any vendor that carrys it.
I have 3947772 with 7 blades that are flat on the ends.

    William----

The GM #3992095 fan blade assembly was discontinued without supercession in October, 1986, is not reproduced as far as I know, and is VERY difficult to locate. Even if you were to find one, I think you'd find it would cost you a king's ransom and then some. These were a Corvette-only piece, were used only for the 1971-73 model years, and only for 454 with C-60. JT Piper might have it. Be heavily sedated when you ask about price, though.

The 3947772 fan blade assembly is not even a Corvette piece. It was originally used for 1969 passenger cars with small block and C-60 as well as some 74-75 C-60-equipped 6 cylinder applications. It is an 18" OD fan blade.

That's what I feared. I guess I'll have to try to find a used one and hope it's still balanced properly.

You just missed one for sale a week or so ago on the Corvette Forum. Dated 1973 tipped fan blade.

          Bill -

That 772 fan was OE on the '69 Camaro Z/28 and L-78, and is VERY valuable to a '69 Camaro restorer; might just finance the one you're looking for.

            William..

Last year when a friend of mine was looking for one for his '72 LS5..the going price if you could find one was around $400.

He was fortunate and ran into a Corvette garage in town that worked mostly on C5s and they just happen to have one and let him have it for $295. Of course he jump at the opportunity as he had been looking for two years and couldn't find one. So they are out there and sometimes "reasonable" priced if you call $295 reasonable?

I was lucky as my '73 LS4 already had the correct fan blade on it.

              Good to know!
Now if I could find a guy with a '69 Camaro that has a '73 Vette fan on his, we could make each other very happy

I found the post - had a date of October 1973. My car's April 1973, but I still would have grabbed it for $300!

Decided to check e-bay thinking I might have been able to pay for the kids college with this fan. Unfortunately, there are 5 of them on there, only one of them with a Buy It Now price of ... 185 bucks. Oh well, I think I'm gonna have to spend more than that for my LS4 fan

The GM #3947772 was used for a LOT of 1969 applications and was available in SERVICE until 1989. So, there should be a fair supply of used pieces out there.

On the other hand, the GM #3992095 was, as I previously mentioned, used ONLY for 1971-73 Corvettes with big block AND C-60. That represents a MUCH smaller "universe" of donor cars. So, I would say the 3992095 would be a whole lot harder to find than a 3947772. The 3992095 was discontinued without supercession in 1986.
