Does any one have any experince towing a 62 with a tow bar.
If so how did you attach the tow bar to the vett frame?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

See my "62 for tie-down" thread. I just towed mine on an open trailer about 1300-1400 miles each way with no problems. I would never use a tow bar and would prefer an enclosed trailer, but couldn't find one to borrow.

To answer your question, rather than to tell you what you shouldn't do---when you take the front bumperettes off, there are 4 holes in the crossmember at that point. I have several friends who in the old days flat towed their cars many hundreds of miles with the tow bar bolted through the crossmember at those four points.
If you are going to flat tow more than a few miles, you want to take the driveshaft out for the same of your transmission.

Flat towing these cars is pretty risky at best. If you must do it go to your local U Haul dealer and rent a 2 wheel dolley. This way you can get the front wheels in the air a little and use a decent bumper hitch assembly on your tow vehicle. Good luck. Rich

Here's how they did it in the early 60s.

If it's a PG trans you have to remove the drive shaft or you will burn up the PG because the rear pump will burn the PG
