I've seen other threads regarding reproduction vs original steering wheel restoration, and I'm leaning towards buying a reproduction. Mostly because I'm afraid down the road, a restored original wheel will be liable to crack or degrade. Has anyone had a professionally restored wheel do this?
More importantly, has anyone bought or judged a wheel bought from Bruce Bursten (A.K.A. ohiovet) on eBay? He is selling wheels that have been made from an early '56 wheel as a mold. he says he had them inspected by NCRS judges and was told they would judge with minimal or no deductions. Do these wheels judge well? Could anyone with knowledge of these wheels share their experience? He seems like a really nice guy.
thanks!
