    67 trim tag conflict

Recently had an opportunity to purchase an original unrestored 67 big block roadster being sold by second owner. Trim tag appeared to be original to car. Revits appeard correct and original. Car was very early VIN 13XX however trim tag read 66 467 instead of 67 467. Is it possible that on early 67 cars the factory incorrectly stamped the trim tag?

At the Collinsville, IL convention there was a white, very early and very origianl, 67 convert stampe as a '6'. No question it can and did happen.
