Re: Website for VIN Searches
Yes, I've tried Public Data. It works pretty well. I even inserted the VIN of an engine I purchased and found the owner of the car from a few years ago. Not all of the states will allow their information to the filtered through Public Data.- Top

Re: Website for VIN Searches
publicdata.com can be very useful in dealing with old cars.
As an aside, publicdata.com was originally based in Texas, but in 1997 the Texas legislature passed a law making publicdata.coms business illegal. The parent company, Shadowsoft, then incorporated another company in Anguilla, BWI and the company has operated on the island since Sept, 1997. The owner, Bruce Stringfellow, is a very interesting person and has made a tidy fortune.
