I realize the whole point of a restoration is to restore to like original, but IF I were to have front fender flairs (I really like em) what's the points deduction for them.
Points deduct for front flairs?

Re: Points deduct for front flairs?
There are 65 Originality points and 55 Condition points for body fiberglass. The modification you mention (fender flares) is covered in the NCRS Judging Reference Manual, Section 4 (Standard Deductions), Rule 15 (Body Related). The rule reads:
"Deduct 100% of Originality and Condition - The presence of any custom body modifications. Total deduction for Originality and Condition."
So, given a 4500 point scoring system, you're looking at a 2.6% loss. Given the reality of things, you can essentially rule out the Mark of Excellence award (requires 97% score or better), but you can probably still achieve Top Flight with a car modified this way...- Top

Re: Points deduct for front flairs?
I might be wrong, and I don't have my Judging Reference Manual handy, but isn't there something about modiffied cars in there? Or is it only paint modifications? I'm thinking that we don't judge modified cars, but as I said I don't have the reference manual handy to check.Terry- Top

Irby, in addition to Jack's comments on Fiberglass see page 3 of the Judging Reference Manual; "Cars are to be judged to the standard of vehicle appearance and as equipped at the time and point of final assembly by the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors Corporation."
