    Engine Pad Cleaning

    Hi,

I need to clean the engine pad on my 1965 in anticipation of having the car judged in early October. It was painted over as part of the rebuild process. Can anyone recommend how/what to use to do this without damaging the underlying broach marks...

    Thanks,

    Joel

If it is just paint you are removing, just get some simple paint stripper. Brush a little on the pad with a touch up brush and the paint will shrivel up and you can wipe it clean. Takes about 5 minutes.

There may be a better way, but this is how I do it !

Also have found using Nail Polish remover w/ cotton swab. as a final stage will remove any residue in the nos. or letters.
