    55 Parts

Over the last few months someone had listed on ebay 1955 floor shifter body moldings. Now that I need one its gone. Anyone know who it was?

    Thanks

Tyler, by floor shifter body moulding, do you mean the fiberglass on the floor board where the automatic shifter mounts? Are you looking to glass in a new piece of the floor board?

When ever you see a 55 part for sale DONT wait and think about it, because 55 parts are rare to locate and people don't keep making them for ever like me! (few buyers to sell to)

Yes and yes. I have a manual in it right now but the car is too early so am conerting to an automatic. Someone was listing one for the auto and manual.

Tyler, try Bart at this email address: Eatondolittle@wmconnect.com

He is out of San Jose and sold me mine...

The piece does not have the metal ring that goes behind it to hold the shifter in place. I purchased a very large washer at a fastener supply and threaded some holes in it to take the shifter screws.

Bart will need to know how much glass you need, he has them made up from small filler panels to entire transmission humps. Mine fit perfectly.

Tyler, also, have the shifter and shifter rod when you start cutting and drilling holes in this piece for the shifter mount. You will need to get the angle of the shifter correct and have enough thread on the rod to adjust properly. If the body is off this is a bit tougher, measure twice , cut once... Having a trans helps too, you need to know distance when in park to the shift lever...

Thanks for the information, sent him an email. The body is comming off to repaint the frame and install new transmission and engine. Looks like it would be best to wait till it is back on to do the mounting.

Looking for an April or earlier intake, have a June dated mfd to trade.
