Looking for input on wheather to reset my odometer to 0 on my frame off restoration. What is the judging standard for odometers? How will a reset affect resale value?

Re: Odometer reset advice
If your title reads unknown or over the limit you can do what you want but if it reads 56873 on the title I would not touch it. For resale or judging the last thing I would look at would be the speedometer. Rust and condition are more important than mileage. Low mile cars are a different story.Lyle

Re: Odometer reset advice
There is no pre-conceived judging standard for odometer readings as NCRS recognizes/embraces cars for Flight Judging that were driven to the meet.
The law regarding setting back a car's odometer varies with the State the car is registered in. MOST allow odometers to be reset on older cars undergoing full restoration(s). That's the way most of the high point Flight cars are seen on the judging field...odometer rolled back to zero.
There's a plus here too. For those who actually use/drive their restored cars, having the odometer reset winds up matching the condition of the car's fully restored power train. That makes it easy to remember when periodic maintenance should be performed...- Top
