I have floated this question in several other threads w/o response, so thought I'd try one more time. I recently bought an AFB rebuild kit that came with Tomco Fuel Inlet Valves in place of the usual needle and seats. They cosist of a Viton disc and plunger in place of a needle. They are two pieces assembled together in a hex shape body (which makes for easy installation) with side slot venting. Although they are supposed to flow more, they also claim to do a superior anti-flooding job and generally improve hot gas vapor handling, reduce stumbling, etc. The disc rotates as it operates allowing it to clean itself.
I tried one of these back in the 70's in a QJ, but I can't recall if it performed well or not.
If anyone has had any experience with these I'd like to hear your impressions before I install them. I'm having a lot of heat soak gas vapor problems with my 63 here in Florida. Although I could not see any fuel dripping in the clusters after shutdown, my local Auto Parts Store refused my drain oil as they said they could smell gas in it (tilt!).
