I have a starter that has 3 holes for mounting. It is rebuilt and I think I bought it for an old chevy truck. The number stamped on the case is 1108360 the date under it is 2 D 20. far to the right of the 20 is another 20. What does it fit and is the date April 20th 1962 ? Thank you Dale

If you're talking about "3 holes" that are parallel to the axis of the starter armature, that is a pre-1963 configuration in which the starter mounts to the bellhousing rather than the block.
However, the 1108360 part number looks like a much later part number to me. I can't say exactly what its application was because I'm 3,000 miles away from my library right now. But, I expect that the starter nose (the part with the mounting holes) didn't originally belong to the starter frame (the part with the stamped numbers). This is very common when a starter has gone through a commercial rebuilding operation. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
