    1965 350HP Air Cleaner

My 65 350HP aircleaner has a small nipple on the rear bottom side of it's base. When I got judged last weekend I was dinged because I simply plugged it. The judge said there should be a hose from this nipple to my RH exhaust manifold to a tube in exhaust manifold.
There is a tube from the exhaust manifold to the choke. I have looked around and haven't solved this issue yet. Does someone either know where I can get this assy.? Does someone have a picture of this assy? What is it called? Any help is much appreciated.

    Dick,

Sounds like you are missing the clean air tube and hose. It is available from any of the usual venders. The choke tube runs through the top of the exhaust manifold and to a hole underneath the exhaust manifold. The clean air tube goes in the bottom hole of the exhaust manifold and runs up behind the exhaust manifold to a hose which connects to the nipple under your air cleaner. Should be a diagram in the AIM.

      Donald is correct.
It's a hose from the tube in the exhaust manifold to the air cleaner housing.

In the first pic you can see the hose connected to the tube coming out of the exh manifold between the manifold and the block (hose is laying across the valve cover the Vac Adv hose.
The second pic shows it again but connected to the nipple on the underside of the air cleaner housing.
The third pic is a closer pic of the hose connected to the tube at the exh mani.

        Barry,

The engine bay in your car is very nice. I only want to point out that on my 63 the clean air tube from the air cleaner goes to a tube that comes out forward of the exhaust manifold center mounting bolts. You may have that tube installed wrong. Also check your AIM and look at the heater hose routing as the lower hose exits the heater core then comes around on top of the other hose. This keeps the hose from burning on the exhaust manifold. Your 65 does not use the donuts around the heater core nipples.

          Tim -

The '63 and '65 clean air tube designs are different - yours is correct, and so is Barry's.
