I have a 67 with the original working headlights. I'd like to preserve these lights for future judging and put some replacements for that occasional evening drive. I actually avoid driving my car at night just to avoid using the headlights and potentially burning them out. Any suggestions on replacements? I would also prefer something a bit brighter than original for safety purposes. Those original lights aren't very bright.
Which headlights for 67?

Any set of current day, service replacement, quad beam headlights will fit/work. In fact, you can get them with better filaments than your factory originals as late Shark cars made the transition to halogen based lamps...- Top

The available reproduction headlamps are somewhat brighter than your original lamps. I'm not certain, but guessing that they're 20-40 per-cent brighter. They look exactly as original, except for the presence of the DOT marking. They are only worth three points for a deduct for a full set.
In preserving your original lamps, and only if the seals are still intact, I would suggest applying a small amount of RTV red (high temp) to supplement the original electrode seals. The material becomes brittle, crumbles, and admits oxygen into the sealed beam, which is fatal to the tungsten.
