    Door mirror tool

Don't know how many other models this may apply to, but I could not get my big mitts up where the mirror mounting plate gets attached to the door on my '55. So I got a 16" length of 1/4" square steel stock and bent it so it would reach the holes on the top of the door. I used a 1/4" drive socket (3/8") with another nut in the bottom to elevate the nut and lock washer, inserted the tool with nut and washer in an existing hole in the door panel and tightened down the mounting plate. Including time to make the tool, it took 30 minutes. Worked like a charm. Cost about $4 bucks and I have leftover stock as well as the tool, which I labeled and put in my miscellaneous tool drawer in the chest...
