    rear end id help

    Got the numbers off my rear end and not sure what they mean.LRW126E1..I do know the LR is 3:36 posi..Any help on the others will be awesome.Thanks

    "W"= Warren Gear and Axle plant (where all 63-79 Corvette carriers were assembled)

    "126"= 126th day of the year

    "E"= Eaton posi unit (all 65-79 Corvettes with posi used Eaton units)

    "1"= 1st shift

      Just out of curiosity,
      where exactly on the rear end are the codes found?
      I have yet to research this on my car.

        on the bottom surface of the carrier at the cover mounting flange..I used a steel brush to clean it up then a mirror and flash light to see them.

          Here's a photo of where you'll find the numbers - between the spring mounting plate and the strut rod bracket.
