    Tire Mileage

Under "normal" driving conditions can anyone guess-ti-mate how many miles I can expect to get out of a set of repro Firestone Wide Oval tires? I was wondering how they would compare to the newer radials.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Back when they came out 10K was about it. Typical low speed rated, hard compound radials that guys run today should be good for at least 40K and up to 80K, so most will not wear out. Even the Z-rated Pirelli P4000 should go 30-40K.

The above assumes normal road driving and no serious alignment problems.

      Thanks Duke,

That's what I thought! Are the current repros made similarly to he older tires? In other words just as soft as originals? Yes, I was trying to say that no smokey burnouts and good alignment would be "normal".

      Regards,

      Kevin

I have no idea about current repro tire compounds, other than they are likely different than original.

AFAIK repro tires must have UTQG ratings, so compare the wear rating to typical radials that are used today.
