Rivet set needed for small hollow rivets

I've Googled my fingers to the bone and can't seem to find a supplier for a rivet set for small hollow rivets. I know I've seen posts here in the past, but my archive searching hasn't turned anything up either.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Tracy,

I got some in 2004 from either Volunteer Vets in Knoxville or Keen Parts in the Cincinnati area - sorry but can't find the receipt to narrow it down though I'd lean toward Keen as the source; they really carried lots of little things like that more than most at the time.

Some report excellent results from a scrap yard push rod that was simply 'cut' to use the flat end for a backstop and the rounded end for a rivet set...

          Tracy:

Volunteer Vette Products in Knoxville, Tenn should have what you need. Part Number #TL42. This is for setting very small rivets.

This small rivet set is manufactured by MicroControls, and listed on their website under PRODUCTS&SERVICES, CORVETTE TOOLS.

          http://www.micro-controls.com and http://volvette.com

Long Island Corvette Supply also has rivet setting tools for 1/8 and 3/16 inch aluminum rivets. Part Numbers #55-02A, 55-02B, and 55-02C.

            Tracy,

Not sure if you remember this thread:

For the hollow rivets in my ignition shield ground clip, I used a hole punch and modified the female end with a bolt head to make it into a rivet squeeze.

Not the conventional way of setting hollow rivets, but it did work just great on my ignition shield. The set inside against the washers, looks just like the original rivets.

              Tracy,

Try googling Roper Whitney for a hole punch or rivet squeeze. For hollow rivets, a hole punch can be a rivet press. Just depends what dies you put between the jaws. Also, sizes vary depending upon how much throat width you need, or how far the rivet is from the edge of the piece.

                Here you go Tracy

Hanson Rivet and Supply, Pacoima CA.

Semi-Tubular Roll Clinch Rivet Set, P/N CA1102-X (size)

They come in short (recommended) and longer length. Suggest you buy a couple of sizes. I bought mine to rivet the front window fuzzy channel to the vent frame on a '65 roadster. Worked like a charm.
