    License Plates on or off?

For judging my 1965, JG is unspecific. Should I have my license plates on with the SS surround trim installed. Or simply take my plates and trim plate with? If so, should I lay on the car's floor or place in storage well?
    Thanks DG

I use the SS surround trim on my rear plate and carry the front trim in the storage well for judging (there is no requirement for a front plate in Michigan). Doing that I top flighted at a regional (about 10 years ago) with no deducts for plate trim.

If your driving it leave them on no deduct, if ya got a trailer queen leave em off and keep the mystic of that brand new car look. That's what I've observed at the judging I've attended.

If you have a state-required license plate on it, you need the stainless frame on that plate.

I trailer my cars to shows and always leave the front and rear license plates on the car (NY requires both plates). Never had any questions or deducts.

And now that you mention it I think it's a pretty lax judging concern, I remember a driven car that had original plates and dealer frames but had the stainless in the car with all the other items and the judges loved it.
