I just installed new date coded glass in my 1965 coupe. After installation of the rear glass, we noticed a small wave in the glass when looking through the glass using the inside rear view mirror. The glass company where I purchased the glass (Auto City Glass) was very good about it and sent me new rear glass. I am taking the car to the Waco regional for flight judging and I am trying to decide whether to replace the glass prior to the meet. The car is already painted so replacing the rear glass at this point is not an easy job and I risk scratching the paint. Will a slight wave in the rear glass be a point deduction during the flight judging? Thanks for any advice.

Re: Wave in Coupe Rear Glass - Point Deduction?
Most new cars with big back windows (like a C6) have some waves in them because you just can't get such a large curved piece to be perfect. It may be no worse than if you had a new '09.

Re: Wave in Coupe Rear Glass - Point Deduction?
I know on 69 camaros they used to buff off the etching on current glass to re etch the old dates and such on the rear glass. At the right angle it is pretty noticable. I think now they have the glass made without and just etch what you want.- Top
