67 TR vs RBW Valve Cover Bolts

I have a 327/300 hp 67. The catalogs call for RBW bolts for my valve cover while the JG only mentions TR. Will the correct "RBW" bolts judge as no deduction? Thanks.

      Kirk -

My '67 300 has eight RBW bolts, but I don't know that they're original - I've only owned it for six years.

TR and RBW are both "period correct" suppliers for a 67 Corvette. Since GM used multiple vendors for most bolts, I don't see how any judge could justify a deduction for either head mark.

I had RBW's on the covers, but they were recessed heads, which I now know was not correct. At least I think?

Right Kirk, the original cap screw heads were not recessed.
Yours could be the pan bolts.

              Kirk,

On my 67, the valve cover bolts have a small L and are not indented head, I believe these to be original.

Tim, that is EXACTLY what was on my car when I got it. I assumed they had been changed out at some point for the "correct" TR/RBW bolts. Are "L" bolts considered "correct" for NCRS judging? Thanks.

                  Kirk,

I am not sure if they are considered correct for judging but I bet they are. No way I would change mine as I believe them to be correct. My 67 is early serial# 15xx built September 66 FWIW.

Mine is a bit later, 16,XXX built in April of 67. I really can't tell or know if they are original.

I agree! I would think any period screw should be OK unless you beleave GM shut down the line if they ran out of the (CORRECT SCREW) & knew that NCRS beleaves Corvettes all had the same screws.
PS It's a screw if its screwed in a threaded hole. It's a bolt if it's inserted through holes & a nut is used. Old hardware man set me straight.
