Pull out your old Restorer collection and read John Amgwert's article.
      EX-122 is a sham.

          Re: Old Corvette

It gives the history of the first few Corvettes. The end result is that the prototype Corvette as well as #1 and 2 are gone.

You might stretch it to say that #2 is what is commonly now called EX-122 by its owners. But it's sort of like saying you have Grandpa's ax - the one he replaced the handle 3 times and the head twice...

Does any one happen to know which volume, and edition of The Restorer, John Amgwert's article about the Ex-122 was in? Thanks In advance, Ridge.

              John's story is vol 20, #1.
Patrick, EX-122 is indeed a sham, but worse than that was the actions of SACC and NCRS during the summer of 2003 issuing honor certificates and placques to Kerbeck while the car sat there, still with the Chevy V8 in place. (Amazing what is possible when you sign up as a "sponsor" of an event.) Perhaps the only people that summer that deserve any credit were the 53 owners at SACC that refused to allow it into the 1953 picture.

Thanks to all of you!!! I was working out of state then and my wife put my periodical up and I guess I never read them. It is unfortunate EX-122 is gone.

Unfortunately a lot of things happen like this. To date I have seen 27 of the original 20 1967 L-88's.

                Thanks again!

                  Re: Old Corvette

Not only are Loren and Patrick and John A. right on the money, I have A Chevrolet Engineering Document that CLEARLY shown that numbers 001 and 002 were built as TEST vehicles and 003 as the FIRST PRODUCTION vehicle.
And further, the EX in a GM EX vehicle stands for EXPERIENTIAL................which has nothing to do with PRODUCTION vehicles!!!!!!
