Fiberglass panel adhesive

I have used vette bond. Did not like. I have used Evercoat adhesive several times in the past. I liked it but not enough working time. Yeah I know put it in the fridge. I don't trust that guessing game. I saw a 3M 2 tube/part adhesive today at the local body supply store. I think it was 3M #2219. $37.00 a apir of tubes. Yikes. But the working time is 30 minutes. Anyone else try this 3M product or something similar?

I just used a 3M adhesive to install a top rear quarter on a '57. I'm not sure if it was the same # that you refer to. I had at least 45 minutes of work time with it. It is super strong and easy to use. For ease of application you may want to buy the dispenser gun as well.

I will check the product number when I get home to make sure it is was #2219.

Another product is Lord Fusor which is a very good panel adheasive.

Checked the 3M product number that I used. It is #08115. It is black when mixed and as I stated earlier, it has a liberal work tme.

various 3M adhesives available in the two part configuration, their differences being the set-up times. seem to recall the quickest sets up in a couple minutes while the slowest about an hour. the 3M gun to utilize their two part tubes will be manditory. seem to recall it being about 150 bucks. i used this product to bond the aftermarket 61 panels on the demolished 92 ZR1 i built about 10 years ago. no cracks or seperation in spite of MANY autocross weekends and a couple near-cross country trips in the old Farm Use Vette( see article in Restorer about 10 years ago--the title of the article was The Idea Corvette).mike
