    Trunk Lid Adjustment

I have set the body back on the chassis of my 61 project to adjust body gaps and lines. I have good gaps between the trunk lid and body, but the trunk lid will not sit flush or with equal reveals with the body (rear or latch body gap). The body sits level or equal distance from the floor on the rear of the car. Is there any tricks to adjusting the trunk lid for a good reveal to the body. I have the same problem with my other 1961, but it is not as severe.

    Thanks for any help!

    Re: Trunk Lid Adjustment

    Ray,

I tried several different methods of adjustment and ended up placing a block of aluminum under the adjustment rod/spring so that when the lid is down it evens up by limiting the downward travel.

Big difference when you put your weatherstripping on as it also helps to even the surfaces out.

I have played with this off and on and am still trying to find a more elegant solution.
