Dumb 64 tachometer cable question

Hi all,

This must be the dumbest question to date but when I took the inner cable out of the tack housing to lubricate I have completely forgotten which end the stop goes in. Is it the distributor side or tachometer side? Thanks and don't laugh.

The cable is inserted through and the "stop" located at the INSTRUMENT end of the cable.
