Wayne - If John doesn't see this, I'll comment. That's a "feature" of the new vBulletin software, probably to keep the server from loading up with duplicate copies of the same photo - we have the same software on the VH board, and it does the same thing. You can get around it by re-sizing and re-naming the image when you want to use it again - that way the server won't recognize it, and it'll upload. PITA. I usually just upload the image to my Village Photos account and link it in full-size for the second usage.

Hi Joe. I'm trying to run down the tranny numbers for a '66 L36 with M21 and a 3.70 (FA) rear end. I started the thread needing:

      1. main case no.
      2. side cover part no.
      3. tail housing

      and then realized I need:
      4. the metal tag no.

      Didn't mean to confuse.

But the steel tag attached to the lower forward sidecover bolt will be stamped 3880855 if ratio 3.08 - 3.55, and 3880853 if 3.70 or 4.11.
Thanks! That's the info that I needed to know. I wish some of the brain trust in this forum could be added to updating the '66 JG. The current edition of the '66 JG is no help at all when it comes to tranny info.

        Best,

Hello. I have an early 66 L36 car with the wide ratio M20 and 3:08 gear. What should the metal tag number be for this? Thanks for the help and interesting discussion above, Ron.

I believe it should be GM #3870354. It's also possible it was GM #3870357.

              Tony -

Probably because axle and transmission "numbers" aren't judged in Flight judging (only in Star/Bowtie judging).
