PCV CV736C for 1973? & How ot remove paint on a 73. LOL

The judging manual shows only a PCV of CV736C for 1973. I have a old chevrolet manual that list a CV746C for 1973.
My car is a LS4 454. Which PCV is correct?
If it is a CV376, where can I get one?

Thank you for all of your help.

PS here is a link to my paint removal on my 73. LOL

I don't think it was either a CV736C or a CV746C for your application. I think it was a CV769C, aka GM #6487532. In PRODUCTION this valve was known as GM #6487530, but it was still a CV769C.

The above-referenced valve is still available from GM. However, while 100% functional for the application, it will be configured slightly different than an original valve. For one thing, it will likely be "painted" rather than zinc plated. For another, there will be many more "square dot-like" impressions around the base of the valve. Yet another difference will be the inscriptions embossed on the body of the valve; originals had "AC Spark Plug" and current usually have "AC Delco".

For an original, you'll need to look for an OLD CV-769C at a swap meet, either used or NOS.

        Hi Ken,
        Interesting!
Before you started were there any clues to indicate that the paint hadn't linked to the primer?

I was only going to wash the wheels. Then I saw a crack on one door so I hit it with the power washer. And it just came off. It took seven hours to strip the car but I saved $600 in plastic beeding the paint off.
