    T Top Stainless Trim

Can someone tell me what year the style of the T Top stainless trim between the windshield and rear halo ( the large T piece) changed? I have two types, a little difficult to describe but here goes. The difference is along the leading edge over the windshield. One simply bends downward toward the glass and ends. The other has an additional bend toward the nose with a small piece horizonal. My 72 used the first type but I need to know when the change occured.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

My '68 has the second type but the horizontal part is not continuous. There are 7 sections that extend out horizontally across the windshield. The two end sections are about 2" long, the 5 interior sections are about 3 1/2" long - all sections are spaced evenly about 1 1/2" apart. The horizontal "lip" extends out about an 1/8". I can't say when the change was made but at least this narrows it down to 3 model years.

Dave, You made a much better description then I did! That's exactly the style I'm referring to. After reading your post I ran out to the garage and discovered that the first two end sections on mine were bent downward. Would this style a one year only part for 68?

      Great help! Thanks Dave,

      Kevin

        Kevin,

I can't say if it is unique to '68 but it would not surprise me if it was, as many parts seem to have not passed on to '69. Mine is kind of rough in places and I'm looking for another one and, thanks to you, now I know to watch out for these distinctions in the leading edge.

          Dave,

Another small difference that I noticed is at the rear where the piece gets riveted to the two chrome pieces the rivet holes are through the top. On the other style the rivet holes are on the side. Hopefully I don't have that reversed? Either way the trim piece I have is available, not perfect but I would be happy to forward you some pictures if your interested?

          Regards,

          Kevin

Mine does not have any holes on the top at the rear. I would like to see the photos - please email them whenever you can. Thanks.
