How do you install the clips on an upper radiator seal without ripping the rubber? The clips that came with my new seal have barbs that will dig in and tear the rubber if simply pushed over the formed lip, even if you put the clips on before pushing the rubber over the steel.

Lube with dishwashing soap and place a thin metal surface between the two, like a putty knife and slide the seal into the clip.
If this expands the clip, carefully re-crimp.

That method worked well. I installed the clips on the rubber first, then installed the assembly on the radiator support.
