It's NOT however will agree it sure looks like silver paint, but really its not.Comment

Bill -- I'd have to agree that the washers show remnants of black paint; and I can't explain it other than the owner(s) in the mid-70's used a rattle spray can liberally on anything that was shiny (eg. they sprayed the birdcage bar under the glove box, blacking out the trim and VIN tags
) Oh well, it was only lacquer and came off easily.
