Access hole in gas tank cover for power top?

I've been getting conflicting answers and am trying to find out which way to go. '58 power top: from the safety switch behind the seat separator that the deck lid contacts with. The AIM shows the switch wires with a grommet going through a hole in the gas tank cover in order to run behind the passenger seat to get to the cylinder next to the passenger seat. I've been told the tank cover both does and does not have a hole in '58. I've seen pictures of the '57 cover that does have a hole. How about the '58? and if not-how does the wire get to the cylinder?
thanks in advance to this question-before I drill for no reason.

    Steve -

Photos below show the hydraulic line and harness routing to the RH top cylinder on Werner Meier's '58 that was the subject of my C1 Power Top Operation/Restoration feature article in the November '07 issue of "Corvette Enthusiast" magazine; hope they're helpful.

Thanks John-I have that issue somewhere-just need to find it. Still couldn't see whether the tank cover has a hole under the safety switch, but from all indications, I think I'll drill a 1" hole and use a grommet. One of those last few details that I haven't agonized over. I'm sure more are on the way. thanks again.

        Steve -

I have an original 57 tank cover with both holes and grommets. I also own a 60 power top car that has both holes. I can't imagine both holes not being there, the wire would not have access to the open cylinder area without an entry as well as an exit.
